Percentage of New COVID-19 Cases Lower in Most Delaware County Zip Codes

The percentage levels of new cases in Delaware County Zipcodes were lower on average for the week prior to March 17, compared to the previous week, write Sean Adams and Megan Lavey-Heaton for the Harrisburg Patriot-News.

Percentages were 1.92% or lower for most Zipcodes.

The exception was Zipcode 19029 (Lester, Essington) which had a 2.82% rise, with 8 new cases for a total of 292.

Also ranking higher was 19061, (Boothwyn, Linwood, Ogden, Marcus Hook and Trainer) which had a 2.76% rise. It had 33 news cases for a total of 1,228.

Zipcode 19043 (Holmes) was next. It had a 2.36% rise. It had 5 new cases for a total of 217.

Zipcode 19342 (Glen Mills) had a 2.3% increase in cases. It had 27 new cases for a total of 1,179.

Ranking lowest was Zipcode 19319 (Cheyney) which had a 0% rise. It has a total of 22 cases.

It was followed by 19076 (Prospect Park). It had a .17% change, with 1 new case for a total of 589.

The next lowest was 19026 (Drexel Hill, Pilgrim Gardens). It had a .69% rise in cases, with 15 new cases for a total of 2,178.

These latest numbers are compiled by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
