Delaware County New COVID-19 Cases Are Trending Daily Below 200. No New Deaths Reported

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported Thursday in Delaware County, bringing the total death toll to 1,199, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

Of total deaths reported, 778 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

The health department reported 132 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County for Thursday, Feb. 4. Total positive cases is now 35,332.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 1,033, or 8.98 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 5,314 cases reported, or 6.40 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 780 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 195,976 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 84.88 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Thursday, Feb. 4, are:

  • Under 10: 1,334 cases
  • 10 to 19: 3,520 cases
  • 20 to 29: 5,988 cases  
  • 30 to 39: 5,188 cases  
  • 40 to 49: 4,810 cases
  • 50 to 59: 5,515 cases
  • 60 to 69: 4,392 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,245 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,337 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Feb. 3that there were 3,128 additional cases of COVID-19 reported, for a new total of 853,616.

 There were 143 additional deaths for a new total of 21,955.
