The Chester County Health Department is reporting a total of 33,141 positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Thursday, Jan. 21, an increase of 181 cases.
One additional COVID-19 death was reported from Darby Borough, bringing a total of 1,072.
Of total deaths reported, 716 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.
Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 991, or 8.62 percent of its 11,471 population.
Upper Darby has the most cases, with 5,033 cases reported, or 6.06 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The county has had 188,657 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 81.56 percent recovery rate.

- 10 to 19: 3,259 cases
- 20 to 29: 5,667 cases
- 30 to 39: 4,898 cases
- 40 to 49: 4,504 cases

- 70 to 79: 2,099 cases
- 80 and over: 2,233 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Jan.21 that there were 6,664 additional cases of COVID-19 reported, for a new total of 788,834.
There were 260 additional deaths for a new total of 20,128.
