Eight more Delaware County residents died from COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Wednesday, bringing the total death toll to 1,200, according to the Chester County Health Department.
Of total deaths reported, 778 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.
Two of the deaths were reported from Middletown, 1 was from Nether Providence, 1 was from Newtown, 1 from Bethel, 1 from Upper Chichester, 1 from Edgmont and 1 was from Tinicum.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.
The health department reported 103 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County for Wednesday, Feb. 3. Total positive cases is now 35,200.
Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 1,032, or 8.97 percent of its 11,471 population.
Upper Darby has the most cases, with 5,304 cases reported, or 6.39 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 773 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.
The county has had 195,548 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 84.4 percent recovery rate.
Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Wednesday, Feb. 3, are:
- Under 10: 1,330 cases
- 10 to 19: 3,498 cases
- 20 to 29: 5,969 cases
- 30 to 39: 5,176 cases
- 40 to 49: 4,789 cases
- 50 to 59: 5,490 cases
- 60 to 69: 4,375 cases
- 70 to 79: 2,236 cases
- 80 and over: 2,334 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Feb. 3that there were 3,128 additional cases of COVID-19 reported, for a new total of 853,616.
There were 143 additional deaths for a new total of 21,955.
