Update: These Delaware County ZIP Codes Had the Biggest 7-Day Increases in COVID-19 Cases

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases keep increasing nationwide and across the state. Locally, some areas of Delaware County are affected more than others, write Sean Adams and Megan Lavey-Heaton for the Penn Live Patriot-News.

The highest percentage increase in Delaware County during a seven-day period ending Jan. 6 was ZIP Code 19022 (Ridley Park/Tinicum/Folsom.) Confirmed cases grew from 172 to 193, or 12 percent.

ZIP Code 19074 (Glenolden/Prospect Park/Norwood) recorded a rise of 10 percent, with cases rising from 319 to 351.

In ZIP Code 19078 (Ridley Park/Tinicum/Folsom) the number of cases went from 624 to 678, or 9 percent.

The same percentage was recorded in ZIP code 19014 (Aston/Boothwyn/Upper Chichester), 19061 (Boothwyn/Marcus Hook/Chester/Trainer), 19081 (Swarthmore/Springfield) and 19018 (Aldan/Clifton Heights).

Cases increased from 814 to 890, 748 to 819, 317 to 344, and 1091 to 1188, respectively.

The rates of COVID-19 infection in each ZIP Code are provided statewide by the Pennsylvania Department of Health in comparison to infection rates for the prior seven days.
