American Community Journals – the parent company of VISTA Today, MONTCO Today, and DELCO Today – has been named a finalist for a 2021 Greater Philadelphia Social Innovations Award.

The Greater Philadelphia Social Innovations Awards honor the region’s most passionate social innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers whose work and social impact too often goes unacknowledged, yet their efforts are what makes Greater Philadelphia a thriving region of innovation and opportunity for all people. The awards are driven by the belief that the potential for good ideas to inspire more good ideas cannot be underestimated.

One of five finalists in the Workforce Development category under Innovations in Social Mobility, American Community Journals embodies the notion of social innovation through its distinctive approach to storytelling, and its three platforms have become an integral part of the fabric of their communities.

By focusing on stories that shape each county, drive economic development, and redefine what it means to live, work, and play in each county, ACJ unites people around their shared interests and delivers them impactful stories that are underreported – or ignored altogether – by traditional media.

VISTA Today, MONTCO Today, and DELCO Today have each become a business development partner in their respective counties, a place where entrepreneurs, companies both large and small, nonprofits, and universities turn to for a trusted partner to disseminate their news.

ACJ’s nomination for a 2021 Greater Philadelphia Social Innovations Award comes on the heels of the company unveiling redesigned websites for its three platforms. ACJ’s online presence is growing exponentially, as approximately 85,000 people now subscribe to either VISTA Today, MONTCO Today, or DELCO Today and look to these sites for positive, upbeat stories that can’t be found anywhere else.
