Great Turnout at May 20 Foundation for Delaware County Golf Outing

The Foundation for Delaware County hosted its second annual Golf Outing on Monday, May 20, at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield.

A sold-out field of golfers enjoyed a shamble format, prizes for the longest drive and best team, followed by an evening reception.

Congratulations to the winning foursome, for the second year in a row, Haverford Trust!

The Golf Outing fundraiser supports the work of the Foundation, providing money to address critical problems in our communities.  The Foundation mission is to build a healthy community and encourage philanthropy in Delaware County.

Last year, the foundation made nearly $1.5 million in grants to improve the health and quality of life for the diverse residents in Delaware County.

The Foundation for Delaware County also operates prestigious evidence-based programs such as Healthy Start, the WIC nutrition program, Nurse-Family Partnership, Drug Free Communities, El Centro (a Hispanic resource center), and a health resource center for students in the Chester Upland School District, which serves one of the region’s poorest communities.

The golf committee is co-chaired by Robert N. Speare, Esq. and H. Edward Hanway of Media. Committee members include: Robert M. Barbacane, CPA, Corliss Boggs, Andrew Brenner, Brian Crimmins, Daniel C. Hagan, Rocco P. Imperatrice, Esq., Andrew McMenamin, Colleen Morrone, Frances M. Sheehan, Thomas A. Shoemaker, John Spagnola and Robert F. Stiles.

The Foundation for Delaware County is a public charity founded in 2016. It is the largest philanthropy serving Delaware County.

Operating as the County’s community foundation, it is headquartered in Media with services sites in Chester, Upper Darby and Springfield.
