Total COVID-19 Cases Reported in Delaware County Jumped Up 327

There are now 17,184 total cases of COVID-19 cases reported in Delaware County as of Wednesday, Nov. 18.

On Nov. 17, the total cases reported was 16,857, according to the Chester County Health Department.

Three more residents have died from the virus, bringing the total county deaths to 836. The residents were from Middletown, Yeadon and Collingdale.

Of those, 633 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 680, or 5.93 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 2,659 cases reported, or 3.2 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 383 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 147,575 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 70.6 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Tuesday, Nov. 18 are:

  • Under 10: 434 cases
  • 10 to 19: 1,551 cases
  • 20 to 29: 3,142 cases
  • 30 to 39: 2,463 cases
  • 40 to 49: 2,334 cases
  • 50 to 59: 2,684 cases
  • 60 to 69: 2,022 cases
  • 70 to 79: 1,132 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,420

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Nov. 17, that there were 6,339 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 281,852.

There were 110 new deaths reported statewide for
Wednesday, Nov. 18, with total deaths listed at 9,465.
