Six COVID-19 Deaths Reported in Delaware County since Nov. 24, With Total Deaths Now at 850

The total number of reported COVID-19 cases in Delaware County stood at 19,395 as of Friday, Nov. 27, according to the Chester County Health Department.

There are now 850 reported COVID-19-related deaths in the county, up six from the last time county fatalities were reported on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Two residents from Upper Darby, 1 from Chester, 1 from Newtown, 1 from Aston, and one from Glenolden all lost their lives to the coronavirus.

Of those, 636 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of the population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 741, or 6.45 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 3,028 cases reported, or 3.64 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 428 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 155,577 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 67.9 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 1,817 cases
  • 20 to 29: 3,530 cases
  • 30 to 39: 2,820 cases
  • 40 to 49: 2,641 cases
  • 50 to 59: 3,035 cases
  • 60 to 69: 2,256 cases
  • 70 to 79: 1,247 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,489
