The Philadelphia Union soccer team has every intention of winning the MLS Cup when the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs begin.

Meanwhile, greet your 2020 Supporters’ Shield winners, writes Charles Boehm for missoccer.com.

The Supporters’ Shield goes to the Major League Soccer team with the best regular season record.

The team’s savoring the win, the club’s first major trophy in its 12 years in the game.

“This is the time to celebrate for sur, said head coach Jim Curtin after the team’s 2-0 Decision Day win over the New England Revolution. “This is something that’s special. It’s unique.”

The Union has had a long climb to get the Supporters’ Shield, but they’ve climbed higher each year.

They’ve reached three U.S. Open Cup finals, even though they lost each one.

Last year they took their first-ever playoff victory.

The team’s gradual success can be attributed to the private school, YSC Academy, in Chester and Wayne.

The seven-year-old school provides a great education to youth grades 7-12 while offering a world class soccer facility that builds potential players for the Union that can beat MLS opponents.

Curtin has actually coached a lot of the Academy kids.
