200 Cases Added to Delaware County COVID-19 Case Total Since Monday

The total number of reported COVID-19 cases reached 18,612 on Tuesday, Nov. 24, as 200 more cases were added to Monday’s total of 18,412.

Two more COVID-19-related deaths were reported from Middletown and Clifton Heights.

Total deaths now number 844, according to the Chester County Health Department.

Of those, 635 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 721, or 6.2 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 2,867 cases reported, or 3.4 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 412 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 152,930 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 68.50 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Tuesday, Nov. 24 are:

  • Under 10: 519 cases
  • 10 to 19: 1,725 cases
  • 20 to 29: 3,408 cases
  • 30 to 39: 2,684 cases
  • 40 to 49: 2,532 cases
  • 50 to 59: 2,912 cases
  • 60 to 69: 2,157 cases
  • 70 to 79: 1,208 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,466

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Nov. 23, that there were 6,669 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 321,070.

There were 81 new deaths reported statewide for
Tuesday, Nov. 24, with total deaths listed at 9,951.
