New COVID-19-Cases at 124 for Thursday in Delaware County, State Hits Million Plus Cases

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Delaware County for Thursday, March 25.

The Chester County Health Department is reporting a total of 1,332 fatalities in the county.

Of those, 818 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

There were 124 new positive COVID-19 cases in Delaware County reported Thursday, March 24. Total cases are now 40,787.

Prospect Park has the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 638, affecting 9.82 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 6,104 cases reported, or 7.36 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 881 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 215,770  people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 91.27 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Thursday, March 25, are:

  • Under 10: 1,690 cases
  • 10 to 19: 4.393 cases
  • 20 to 29: 6,843 cases  
  • 30 to 39: 5,951 cases  
  • 40 to 49: 5,520 cases
  • 50 to 59: 6,351 cases
  • 60 to 69: 4,963 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,538 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,533 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, March 25, there were 3,623 new cases of COVID-19 statewide.  Total cases now number 1,000,240.

The state is reporting 41 additional COVID-19 deaths for Wednesday, March 24. Statewide death toll is now 24,917.
