No Sign of Slowing Down, New COVID-19 Cases Come in at 133 Friday for Delaware County

New cases of COVID-19 remained high at 133 Friday in Delaware County, with the total number of cases now reported at 13,752, according to the Chester County Health Department.

One additional COVID-19 related death in Upper Providence was reported Friday, Oct. 30, with totals now at 814.

Of those, 620 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 583, or 5.08 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, with 2,108 cases reported, or 2.54 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 323 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 130, 836 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 79.95 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Oct. 29 are:

  • Under 10: 288 cases (up 7)
  • 10 to 19: 1,153 cases (up 15)
  • 20 to 29: 2,526 cases (up 21)
  • 30 to 39: 1,916 cases (up 29)
  • 40 to 49: 1,841 cases (up 24)
  • 50 to 59: 2,088 cases (up 19)
  • 60 to 69: 1,641 cases (up 17)
  • 70 to 79: 963 cases (up 6)
  • 80 and over: 1,335 cases (up 2)

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Oct. 30, that there were 2,641new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 205,517.

There were 22 new deaths reported statewide for
Friday, Oct. 30, with total deaths listed at 8,784/
