94-Year-Old Media Trick-Or-Treater Gets Into the Spirit of Halloween
A four-year mother and daughter Halloween tradition for Florence Lauria, 94, and her daughter, Annette Reyman of Media, will continue this year despite the pandemic, with some precautions, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.
Florence’s daughter makes sure that each year they don a themed costume and make a trick-or-treat call to Berkshire Hathaway Fox & Roach in Media where Annette’s husband, Mike, works.
Their Halloween tour also includes a visit to Lauria’s doctors’ offices at Penn Internal Medicine, Healthmark Foot & Ankle Associates in Media, Rose Tree Dental, Surrey Services in Media, and other community destinations.
.“She had never trick-or-treated before and got a real kick out of it. My mother has always been fun-loving and loves to laugh!” Reyman said.
They were witches in 2016, Daenerys Targaryen/Mother of Dragons from “Game of Thrones” in 2017, with their dog dressed as a dragon. It was “The Little Mermaid” in 2018, and the “Wizard of Oz” last year.
Lauria actually prefers to give out the candy rather than receive it and insists on distributing it during their Halloween celebration, especially when she can spread cheer to her friends and staff at Surrey Services.
