52 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported Wednesday in Delaware County, 1 New Death Reported in Marple

There were 52 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County for Wednesday, Sept. 2. Total number of cases is now at 10,524

One COVID-19-related death was reported in Marple, with the total death toll for the county now at 774.

Of those, 604 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 39 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 519 cases, affecting 4.52 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,667, affecting 2.01 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The county has had 156,436 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 80.21 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 2, that there were 816 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 135,611.

There were 21new COVID-19 related deaths reported, with the total now at 7,691.
