46 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Delaware County on Friday, 2 More Deaths Reported

There were 46 new cases of COVID-19 reported Friday, Sept. 11 for Delaware County. Total number of cases is now 10,852 according to the Chester County Health Department.

Two additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the county for Friday, Sept. 11 in Upper Darby and Brookhaven, with the total now at 780.

Of those, 604 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 527 cases, affecting 4.59 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,716, affecting 2.06 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The list includes which communities saw an increase in cases based on previously unassigned cases and new cases since Thursday, Sept. 10, the last date these statistics were updated.

There are 291 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 94,510 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 82.13 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 762 cases (up 11)
  • 20 to 29: 1,879 cases (up 6)
  • 30 to 39: 1,491 cases (up 6)
  • 40 to 49: 1,415 cases (up 10)
  • 50 to 59: 1,678 cases (up 5)
  • 60 to 69: 1,344 cases (up 3)
  • 70 to 79: 827 cases (up 2)
  • 80 and over: 1,282 cases (up 1)

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 11, that there were 1,008 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 142,995.

There were 17 new COVID-19 related deaths reported, with the total now at 7,837.
