41 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Delaware County for Wednesday, Death Toll Remains at 780

There were 41 new cases of COVID-19 reported Wednesday, Sept. 16 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Tuesday. Total number of cases is now 11,045 according to the Chester County Health Department.

No new COVID-related deaths were reported in the county, with the total remaining at 780.

Of those, 604 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 529 cases, affecting 4.61 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,738, affecting 2.09 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The following are the number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Wednesday, Sept. 16, listed by municipality in descending order of caseload.

The list includes which communities saw an increase in cases based on previously unassigned cases and new cases since Tuesday, Sept. 15, the last date these statistics were updated.

There are 293 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 97,592 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 83.13 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 810 cases (up 6)
  • 20 to 29: 1,934 cases (up 9)
  • 30 to 39: 1,505 cases (up 2)
  • 40 to 49: 1,433 cases (up 3)
  • 50 to 59: 1,706 cases (up 8)
  • 60 to 69: 1,364 cases (up 6)
  • 70 to 79: 832 cases (up 2)
  • 80 and over: 1,285 cases (up 1)

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 16, that there were 776 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 146,990.

There were 28 new deaths reported statewide as of
Wednesday, Sept. 16, with the total deaths list at 7,903.
