33 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Delaware County for Friday, 1 Death Reported

There were 33 new cases of COVID-19 reported Friday, Sept. 25 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Wednesday. Total number of cases is now 11,348according to the Chester County Health Department.

One resident in Marple lost their life to COVID-19. Total county deaths are now at 793.

Of those, 614 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 540 cases, affecting 4.71 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,755, affecting 2.11 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The following are the number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Monday, Sept. 21, listed by municipality in descending order of caseload.

The list includes which communities saw an increase in cases based on previously unassigned cases and new cases since Thursday, Sept. 24, the last date these statistics were updated.

There are 296 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 104,116 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 84.02 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Sept. 25, are :

  • Under 10: 187 cases (up 1)
  • 10 to 19: 863 cases (up 11)
  • 20 to 29: 2,020 cases (up 812)
  • 30 to 39: 1,542 cases (up 2)
  • 40 to 49: 1,469 cases (up 8)
  • 50 to 59: 1,739 cases (up 8)
  • 60 to 69: 1,393 cases (up 1)
  • 70 to 79: 845 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,289 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 25, that there were 806 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 154203.

There were 2 new deaths reported statewide as of
Friday, Sept. 25, with the total deaths listed 8,081.
