55 New Cases of COVID-19 for Delaware County Sunday, Total Now Exceeds 10,000

COVID-19 statistics for Delaware County were unavailable from the Chester County Health Department for Sunday, Aug. 23.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health is reporting 55 additional cases of COVID-19 for Sunday, Aug. 23 in Delaware County since statistics were last reported Friday, Aug. 21.

Total number of cases in the county as of Aug. 23 is 10,045.

State statistics do not include a municipal breakdown of COVID-19 cases.

The Chester County Health Department reported 770 COVID-19 related deaths for Delaware County as of Friday, Aug. 21.  Of those, 597 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

There were 1,415 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Pennsylvania as of Sunday, Aug. 23 since statistics were last reported on Friday, Aug. 21. .Pennsylvania is now listing a total of 129,048 COVID-19 cases.

There were 20 additional COVID-19 deaths statewide reported, bringing the total to 7,578 deaths for Aug. 23, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Statewide, 1,423,972  people have tested negative for the virus.
