46 New COVID-19 Cases in Delaware County, 2 More Deaths Reported. Total Now Is 7,475 Cases, 706 Deaths

As of Wednesday, July 8, there have been 46 additional COVID-19 cases reported in Delaware County since Tuesday, July 7.

There were two additional COVID-19 related deaths reported.

That brings the total number of positive cases in the county to 7,475, with the number of COVID-19 related deaths at 706.

Of those, 564 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough has the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 435 cases, affecting 3.79  percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,227, affecting 1.48 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 272 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 41,077 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 82.63 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, July 8, that there are 849 additional positive cases of COVID-19 since Tuesday, July 7, bringing the statewide total to 92,148.

There were 25 additional deaths reported with the total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 at 6,812.
