New Covid-19 Cases at 22 for Friday, June 6, 31 Additional Deaths Reported

There were 31 more COVID-19 related deaths in Delaware County for Friday, June 5, bringing the number of fatalities to 645.

There were 22 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing that total to 6,661, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 deaths are now reported in 36 of the 45 municipalities of the county.

There are 270 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 402 cases, affecting 3.5 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby continues to have the most cases, at 1,046, affecting 1.26 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, June 5, that there are 443 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 74,385.

There are 5,886 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 69 new deaths.

The southeast region of the state, which includes Delaware, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks and Chester Counties, has the highest number of positive confirmed cases in the state, at 48,175.  The next highest number of cases in the state is in the northeast, reporting 13,347cases.
