Delaware County New Daily COVID-19 Cases Remain Low as Total Cases Climb Above 7,000

Editor’s Note: COVID-19 statistics were unavailable from the Chester County Health Department for Tuesday, June 23.

The following statistics were provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. They do not include a municipal breakdown of COVID-19 cases and may be slightly different than the numbers reported out of local health departments.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, June 23, that there are 7,065 total cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County, 6,841 confirmed cases and 224 probable cases.

There are 637 deaths reported.

As of midnight, June 23, the state reported 510 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Pennsylvania, bringing the statewide total to 82,696.

There are 6,464 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 38 new deaths.

Testing in Chester City

A free COVID-19 testing site will be open Saturday, June 27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., outside of Chester City Hall, 1 Fourth Street, Chester.

Residents 18 years and over concerned about COVID-19 exposure are eligible to be tested. The testing is free to the public, however residents who have health insurance are asked to bring their insurance card.

Residents can drive through or walk up to the testing site. Please adhere to social distancing and wear a mask. Enter the parking lot through the Fourth Street entrance.

The event is hosted by Chester City Council, the Chester City Health Board, Delaware County Council and the Chester County Health Department.
