Wawa will have a grand opening of its largest location to date in Philadelphia today at 20th and Market streets, writes Dan McQuade for Philadelphia magazine.

Plans for the 7,000-square-foot store, which includes 25 bar seats, were announced seven months ago. This makes it significantly bigger than the “Robinson Luggage Wawa” located at Broad and Walnut, which covers 5,380 square feet.

The new location is the fifth location in the area for the Delco-based chain. Wawa also opened the Broad and Walnut location in September of last year, and has had longstanding locations at 10th and Walnut and 2nd and Lombard.

According to recent reports, two more Wawa stores may also be joining the neighborhood soon, one at 12th and Market in the East Market development, and another at 13th and Chestnut in the current I. Goldberg store.

Philadelphia is not the only area that is seeing new stores pop up, as the chain announced in May it was planning to open 50 new stores this year, almost half of them in Florida.
