Delaware County Continues to See Lower Numbers on New COVID-19 Cases, 16 Reported June 2

Delaware County continued to show low numbers for new COVID-19 cases on June 2, with only 16 new cases reported.  There were three new deaths, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

That brings the county total number of COVID-19 cases to 6,545, with fatalities now at 548.

There are 266 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 391 cases, affecting 3.41 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby continues to have the most cases, at 1,031, affecting 1.24 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, June 2, that there are 612 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 72,894.

There are 5,667 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 100 new deaths.

The southeast region of the state, which includes Delaware, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks and Chester Counties, has the highest number of positive confirmed cases in the state, at 47,169.  The next highest number of cases in the state is in the northeast, reporting 13,188 cases.
