85 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported Monday in Delaware County, No New Deaths Reported

There were 85 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County for Monday, Aug. 31. Total number of cases is now at 10,402.

No additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported, with the total death toll for the county remaining at 773.

Of those, 604 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 39 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 516 cases, affecting 4.5 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,652, affecting 1.99 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The list includes which communities saw an increase in cases based on previously unassigned cases and new cases since Friday, Aug. 28, the last date these statistics were updated.

There are 310 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 87,155 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 80.31 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, comparing Aug. 31 numbers with Aug. 28, the last date these statistics were reported, are :

  • Under 10: 166 cases (up 2)
  • 10 to 19: 661 cases (up 13)
  • 20 to 29: 1,750 cases (up 38)
  • 30 to 39: 1,438 cases (up 19)
  • 40 to 49: 1,369 cases (up 12)
  • 50 to 59: 1,605 cases (up 22)
  • 60 to 69: 1,316 cases (up 12)
  • 70 to 79: 805 cases (up 5)
  • 80 and over: 1,269 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Aug. 31, that there were 521 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since Sunday, Aug. 30, bringing the statewide total to. 134,025.

There were 18 new COVID-19 related deaths reported, with the total now at. 7,673.
