Two More Lose Their LIfe to COVID-19 in Delaware County, Death Toll Now at 10

Two more deaths have been reported in Delaware County from COVID-19, bringing the death toll now to 10 in the county, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Four deaths have been reported in Marple Township, two in Ridley Township, one in Springfield, one in Middletown, one in Yeadon, and one in Ridley Park.

The Chester County Health Department is now reporting 100 more positive cases of COVID-19, 570 positive cases total in Delaware County as of noon, Friday, April 3.

The virus continues to be reported in 45 out of 49 municipalities.

There are 77 cases reported still under investigation and not yet tied to a municipality.

Upper Darby continues to lead other county municipalities in the number of COVID-19 cases, at 67.

Haverford Township is next, at 42. Radnor remains unchanged at 28 cases. Marple has 27 cases. Nether Providence has 23 cases.

Newtown Township has 23 cases reported.  Springfield remains unchanged at 21 cases.

Middletown Township is unchanged at 17 cases. Ridley and Thornbury have 16 cases each.

Yeadon Borough has 15 cases. Aston has 14 cases.

There are 13 cases in Upper Chichester and 12 cases in Concord and Darby Borough.

Lansdowne has 10 cases. Collingdale and Swarthmore have nine cases each.

Ridley Park, city of Chester, and Upper Providence have eight cases each.

Clifton Heights and Folcroft have five cases each of COVID-19.

Aldan, Bethel, Darby Township, East Lansdowne, Edgmont, and Media have four cases each.

Three cases each were reported in Glenolden, Millbourne, Morton and Parkside, and Sharon Hill.

Two cases each were reported in Chadds Ford, Chester Township, Colwyn, Eddystone, Parkside, Rose Valley, and Trainer.

Brookhaven, Chester Heights, Norwood, Prospect Park, and Tinicum have one case each of COVID-19.

No cases were reported in Lower Chichester, Marcus Hook, Rutledge and Upland.

The highest number of reported cases, 108, occurred with individuals ages 50 to 59.

The second highest number, 96, occurred with individuals ages 30 to 39.

The third highest number, 85, occurred with individuals ages 20 to 29.

The county had 2,940 people test negative for the virus.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health has confirmed 1,404 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 8,420 in 63 counties.

The department also reported 11 new deaths among positive cases, bringing the statewide total to 102.

There were 53,695 people that tested negative for COVID-19.

Philadelphia County takes the lead in positive cases of COVID-19, at 2,284, with 14 deaths reported.

Montgomery County reports the second highest number of cases, at 875, with 11 deaths. Lehigh County comes in third, at 584 cases, with five deaths. Delaware County is fourth, at 570 cases, with 10 deaths reported.
