Coronavirus Update: Marple Leads in COVID-19 Deaths at 21, County Total Is 143; Total Cases, 3,333

There are now 143 Delaware County residents who have lost their lives to COVID-19, as of Sunday, April 26, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Of those, 98 occurred in a nursing home or personal care facility in the county.

The following is a breakdown of COVID-19 fatalities listed by the Chester County Health Department in descending order of community:

The county’s total number of COVID-19 confirmed now stands at 3,333.

The virus is reported in 48 of the 49 municipalities, with no cases reported in Rutledge.

There are 1,175 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been listed.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 167 cases, affecting 1.46 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most reported cases, at 342, affecting .41 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

By gender, 55.48 percent of the cases reported have been female, 42.75 percent male and 1.77 unknown.

The county has had 7,813 people test negative for the virus.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight, April 26, that there are 1,116 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 41,165.

All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19.

The state is reporting 1,550 deaths in Pennsylvania.

Of those, 952 were in nursing homes and personal care facilities.

The southeast region of the state, which includes Delaware, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks and Chester Counties, has the highest number of COVID-19 positive confirmed cases in the state, at 25,969.  The northeast has the second highest number of cases, at 8,926.
