Coronavirus Update: 19 More COVID-19 Deaths in Delaware County, Total Now 164, Cases at 3,514

Nineteen more Delaware County residents have lost their lives to COVID-19 since Monday, bringing the total number of deaths in the county to 164 as of Tuesday, April 28, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Of that, 113 occurred in a nursing home or personal care facility in the county.

The following is a breakdown of COVID-19 fatalities listed by the Chester County Health Department in descending order of community:

The county’s total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases increased by 109 and now stands at 3,514.

The virus is reported in 48 of the 49 municipalities, with no cases reported in Rose Valley.

There are 190 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been listed.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 229 cases, affecting 2 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most reported cases, at 589, affecting .71 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, April 28, that there are 1,214 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 43,264.

All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19.

The state is reporting 1,716 deaths in Pennsylvania.

Of those, 1,089 were in nursing homes and personal care facilities.

The southeast region of the state, which includes Delaware, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks and Chester Counties, has the highest number of COVID-19 positive confirmed cases in the state, at 27,335.  The northeast has the second highest number of cases, at 9,351.
