Harrah’s, Valley Forge Casinos Temporarily Close Due to Coronavirus

Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino in Chester has temporarily closed its doors as part of the state mitigation effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The casino closed 6 a.m. Saturday, March 14.  Casino officials stressed that there have been no cases of COVID-19 at the facility and has implemented

“Harrah’s Philadelphia is closely monitoring this evolving situation and will work with local officials to establish a reopening date as soon as it is appropriate to do so,” reads a statement on its website.

Caesars, which owns Harrah’s, has implemented enhanced cleaning and sanitizing protocols throughout its facilities, based on recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control, the statement reads.  You can find out more here.

Valley Forge Casino Resort, owned by the Boyd Gaming Corporation has also temporarily closed to the public.

That temporary closure began Friday morning, March 13.  The Company expects the casino will remain closed until Friday, March 27, in compliance with the governor’s directive.

Boyd Gaming  announced it is following CDC-recommended cleaning protocols, according to a company statement.
