A Delaware County family is keeping their local roots in Folsom, sharing their Italian recipes at a new restaurant, Santino’s Tap & Table, reports Victoria Woodill for Taste With Tori at Philadelphia.cbslocal.com.

“I grew up here. My family’s from here. We’ve been doing this a long time and I want you to feel like I felt when I was coming home from school,” said owner Charlie DeMarco.

The recipes come from generations of Italians, starting with Charlie’s mom.

Building from the gravy and pizza recipes is Charlie’s son, CJ, adding some of his own.

“I was trying to find creative ideas and put my own twist on them,” he said.

Santino’s is located just a few blocks away from a restaurant Charlie’s father opened in 1987. Eventually his dad moved his restaurant, DeMarcos, to Drexel Hill but the family has roots in Folsom.

“We were here 30 years ago in the area. We still live in the area and to come back as a second generation is really cool,” Charlie said.

“This is where all my friends are from. This is where all my friends live. It just feels like home again,” CJ said.
