The Foundation for Delaware County is launching the Delaware County COVID-19 Response Fund to minimize the economic hardship and disruption of safety-net services in the community.

It is expected that the COVID-19 pandemic will profoundly affect many vulnerable citizens and the nonprofits that serve them.

The hope is the Fund will help offset the variety of health and financial challenges that will impact Delaware County and its  non-profit organizations.

More details about the Fund will be released this week.

The Foundation for Delaware County invests in and manages charitable funds created by local individuals, family and organizations.  Part of its mission is to strengthen nonprofits through charitable grants, training and other resources.

Its ultimate aim is to create a vibrant future for Delaware County and improve the well-being of its residents.

“As we face this global pandemic, our hearts and prayers are with the people and communities impacted most,” reads a statement on its website. “Let’s look out for each other, check on neighbors and friends, and let us know how we can help. We are available and here for you. “
