Marie Neugebauer of Glen Mills recently celebrated her 50^th tournament appearance at the United States Bowling Congress Women’s Championships at Northrock Lanes in Wichita, KS, writes Christian Seaborn for Bowl.com.

The 83-year-old bowler first took part in the tournament at the 1959 event in Buffalo, NY. After that, she was in events in 33 more cities across 23 states.

“I have special memories from each city,” said Neugebauer. “And the tournament helped me visit each of those 23 states.”

Over the years, Neugebauer made sure to stay in touch with her teammates. This has become especially important to her as they now live all over the country.

“I’ve had a lot of fond memories with my bowling family, and the tournament has made that happen,” she said.

In recognition of her 50th appearance, the Wilmington USBC WBA Hall of Fame member was presented with a plaque, chevron, and a necklace at the 100th edition of the USBC Women’s Championships.

For her milestone appearance, the right-hander rolled sets of 418 in the singles, 407 in the doubles, and 376 in a team for a total of 1,201.
