Vitable Health, a Woodlyn-based startup, is offering local residents on-demand urgent care, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

According to Vitable founder and CEO Joseph Kitonga, people will be able to visit the company’s website to request an appointment. Then, one of the company’s advanced nurse practitioners will arrive at their home within an hour. The appointment costs $79.

“What we want to do is redesign the healthcare experience,” Kitonga said, noting that there will be no limit on how long the visit lasts.

“We want to be there with a patient for however long it takes,” he said.

Kitonga, 21, is a software engineer by training who previously interned with Microsoft. His connection to the healthcare industry is also strong as his family runs a home health agency.

Vitable Health will operate as a division of the family business, Hosana Home Health Services, which provided the seed capital. To ensure success, the company will aim to handle 30 patient visits a day. The working hours will be 10 AM-10 PM on weekdays and 10 AM-7 PM on weekends.
