In a move that will eventually enhance its ability to grow the services offered at its main campus in Media, Elwyn will relocate part of its administrative staff to Camden, N.J., after winning tax credits from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, writes Kathleen Carey for the Daily Times.
The human services nonprofit will receive $3.9 million a year in tax credits for 10 years for agreeing “to make a capital investment and locate in Camden.”
CEO Charles McLister said that Elwyn’s headquarters in Delaware County will remain the center of the organization.
“Elwyn will always be a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit corporation,” he said. “In fact, we anticipate increasing and expanding the number of staff and services we provide in Delaware County over this period of transition.”
By moving human resources, technology, fundraising, and other administrative staff members to Camden, Elwyn will be able to use its assets in Media more efficiently.
“Overall, this project will enhance our ability to grow services in the Delaware Valley,” said McLister.
Since 1852, Elwyn has served individuals with autism and intellectual, developmental, and behavioral challenges.
