The Philadelphia Union is planning to offer a new transit option for fans in and around Center City to make getting to the games easier, writes Jonathan Tannenwald for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Starting on April 28, when the Union hosts D.C. United, team-run buses will run from four venues in the city:

• Baby Blues BBQ at 34th and Sansom Streets
• Brahaus Schmitz at 718 South Street
• Smith’s Restaurant at 39 South 19th Street
• Xfinity Live in the Sports Complex

The buses will leave two hours before the game starts and will drop off fans at Lot D near Talen Energy Stadium. The return trip will be 20 minutes after the game’s end, unless there are postgame events.

The cost will be $15 for the round trip. Tickets can only be purchased through the team’s website as standalone or with single-game tickets.

“We recognize that it’s important that we provide our Philadelphia fanbase with options,” said chief business officer Tim McDermott.

If the service proves popular, the team will look into expanding the service, he said.
