Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid surprised parishioners at St. Kevin’s in Springfield when he made an unexpected appearance last Sunday night, according to a report from TMZ.

The NBA All-Star arrived in Sixers’ gear for the evening mass, and he stayed for another hour after the service for personal prayer time.

The parishioners were delighted to see one of their favorite athletes in church with them. Embiid even accommodated their requests for pictures. He chatted and posed with everyone who came to say hello.

“He was super nice,” said a member of the congregation.
