President of Delaware County Community College Elected to CKCF’s Board of Directors

The Crozer-Keystone Community Foundation, a public charity founded in 2016 and the largest philanthropy serving Delaware County, has elected Dr. L. Joy Gates Black to its Board of Directors.

“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Gates Black to the Crozer-Keystone Community Foundation Board,” said Frances Sheehan, CKCF’s president. “Her depth of experience as a strong leader in the field of higher education, her focus on community, and her background in organizational leadership and development will be a real asset as our board continues to develop the strategic direction of Delaware County’s newest community foundation.”

Dr. Gates Black is the first woman and the first African-American to head Delaware County Community College. A U.S. Air Force veteran and a native of Dayton, Texas, she is married to Dillet Black. They have four adult children and five grandchildren, and currently reside in Media.

CKCF is headquartered in Media with service offices in Chester, Upper Darby, and Springfield.
