Gerald Parsons, the CEO of West Chester-based Communications Test Design, Inc., and his wife Eleanor have made a generous gift to Penn State Brandywine for a new dining hall that will bear the couple’s surname, writes Amy Packard Ferro for Penn State News.
Parsons Hall is at the heart of the newly constructed student union building that just opened on campus. It provides a space where students can connect with others, as well as study and eat between classes.
The new student union building also includes conference and recreational spaces, the campus bookstore, and the student affairs office.
Parsons is a Penn State graduate who served as the chairman of Brandywine’s campus advisory board for a number of years.
“As a member of the campus advisory board for many years,” said Parsons, “I understand how philanthropy can impact our students’ experience and ability to achieve goals.”
He said that the region needs educated people who are skilled and qualified to enter the workforce.
“Brandywine recognizes this, and is taking big steps in making sure its students are well prepared,” he said.
