A dominant year crowned with a pair of college records, a conference championship, conference Player of the Year honors, and now dual All-American accolades has put Glen Mills native Haley Warden in the national lacrosse spotlight.

This season, the Garnet Valley High School graduate scored 28 goals and contributed eight assists as a junior midfielder for James Madison University.

The latest honors, announced just this month, involved inclusion among the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Third Team All-Americans and the Inside Lacrosse Media Second Team All-Americans.

“Haley deserves to be recognized at this level, and I am so proud of her that she was,” said JMU coach Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe. “She consistently dominated all over the field all season long against one of the toughest schedules in the nation.”

Warden set her school records in caused turnovers and draw controls (tied the school record), and she was also voted the 2017 Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year and the CAA Championship Most Outstanding Performer.

“It’s a big deal for the CAA and JMU to produce All-Americans,” Klaes-Bawcombe said. “This 2017 team was so wonderful to work with, and the fact they are awarded with an All-American is a huge compliment to their hard work and unselfishness.”
