Three Delco residents and one county native recently received alumni awards from Neumann University.

Folsom native Melissa Maginnis, Ph.D., received the John Neumann Award for exemplifying the values of the university. She is an assistant professor of microbiology at the University of Maine.

Springfield’s Michael Hawley, Esq., a managing partner of Lyons Dougherty LLC in Chadds Ford, received the Recognition Award for dedication and service to the university.

The President’s Distinguished Alumni Award went to Sister Christopher Wagner, a resident of Aston and the vocation director for the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia.

Patricia DiNicola of Glen Mills took home the Volunteer of the Year Award for her commitment of time and service to Neumann. She recently retired after teaching for 32 years at St. Francis de Sales School in Aston.

The presentations were made during homecoming weekend at the Alumni Awards and Hall of Fame Recognition Dinner.
