The Marple Crossroads is Smashburger’s second location in Delaware County, as it already has one in Radnor, and a third is planned for Brookhaven later this year.

The new eatery is jointly owned by Newtown Square resident Kevin Murphy, Devon’s Dan Hill, and South Jersey’s Dan O’Shaughnessy and Gene Giordano.

This latest Smashburger offers the same menu items that have made the restaurant a national favorite.

“The secret to the restaurant’s popular burger is in the smash,” the company said. “It starts with 100-percent fresh, never frozen, Certified Angus Beef, and is smashed on a 400-degree flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the ‘better burger’ experience, the burgers are served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of the freshest produce.”

The Marple Crossroads Smashburger will offer a unique, regional “Philly” burger served on a pretzel bun. The restaurant has also decided on a localized decor with the Seal of Delaware County, the Philadelphia skyline, and Valley Forge Park cannons adorning its walls.
