The Radnor-based Haverford Trust commissioned two local artists to bring Mount Rushmore to the Democratic National Convention by creating an interactive pop-up display at City Hall, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Local artist Mark Parker and Lisa Suszek used spray paint and chalk to create a 200-square-foot mural that features four presidents and an empty space for a fifth face. The mural poses the question: “What is quality leadership?”

The goal of the display was to engage the general public in conversation and debate on the characteristics of excellent leadership during the convention.

The exhibit also provided participants and visitors with the chance to take home a striking memory of the event, as many took the opportunity to have their picture taken with the mural.

“We hope that this mural will remind everyone of their important role in the political process and in the future of the United States,” said Joe McLaughlin, chairman and CEO of Haverford Trust.
