The Radnor Township Commission has decided to table its decision on developer Cas Holloway’s proposal to subdivide the almost four-acre lot next to Darby Creek, writes Linda Stein for Main Line Media News.

Several residents showed up for the meeting to voice their opposition to the three-house development planned for the lot at the corner of Darby-Paoli and Goshen roads. Radnor Township, represented by its solicitor John Rice, also opposed the plan.

In a letter to Holloway’s lawyers, Rice asserted that the former subdivision plan clearly designates the parcel as open space. He also noted that residents who lived nearby at the time have confirmed that Holloway had promised that this ninth lot would be kept as undeveloped, open space.

“These recollections are supported by sworn testimony Mr. Holloway made to the township Zoning Hearing Board concerning this earlier subdivision,” wrote Rice.

Holloway’s lawyer, John Snyder, argued that 800 Goshen Road is a developable lot.

According to Snyder, the reason why the plot remained undeveloped was the lack of access to it, and his client was just waiting for those issues to be resolved.

“It’s always been a developable parcel for us,” Snyder said.
