Radnor native Devan Kaney has been let go at 94WIP-FM, where she served as a co-host of a morning talk show and as a sideline reporter covering the Philadelphia Eagles.
She has been at the station since 2022, co-hosting WIP’s morning show along with Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie.
Kaney took over as the station’s sideline reporter for its Philadelphia Eagles broadcast since the end of the 2024 season, after the sudden departure of Howard Eskin, writes Rob Tornoe for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
She’s the victim of a new round of layoffs from parent company Audacy.
“I had a blast working at WIP and sincerely enjoyed my time there,” Kaney said. “But as the old saying goes, when one door closes, another opens.”
Kaney is staying in the Philly market and will still work as weekend anchor at Fox 29. She may also return for Eagles broadcasts, which were not part of her job at WIP.
Multiple layoffs took place at Audacy’s six Philadelphia stations, which also include KYW Newsradio, 1210 WPHT, B101, BIG 98.1, and New 96.5.
Audacy, based in Philadelphia, emerged from bankruptcy in Oct. 2024. It is now a private company owned in part by Soros Fund Management.
