Experience Napa Country at Napa Kitchen and Wine in Newtown Square

Napa Kitchen and Wine in Newtown Square offers a self-guided wine tasting.

Napa Kitchen and Wine at the Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square offers a different kind of wine-tasting experience, reports Bob Kelly for Fox 29 Philadelphia.

The restaurant brings the Napa Valley to Delaware County with wine tastings dispensed from self-serve kiosks, offering 1 or 3 oz samples or a full 5 oz. glass servings of wine and spirit selections.

“Napa Kitchen and Wine is a destination restaurant that’s centered around capturing the essence of California’s wine country, specifically, Napa, said franchisee owner David Trout.

The self-service machines from Tuscany were made by Italian winemakers.

“The idea here is for you to have a self-guided tour and taste great curated wines from really around the world,” he said.

In addition to its varied wine selection, there are also some rare, sought-after spirits available, like Old Rip Van Winkle bourbon, 15-year-aged Whistle Pig, and Blanton’s Whiskey.

Wine enthusiasts can join a $35 a month wine club that includes a complimentary bottle of wine and two free wine tastings a month.

For food, there’s an Eye of the Tiger and California roll with 100  percent crab meat, to tuna nachos, wasabi, and Thai chili aioli, and short rib gnocchi.
