Co-Owner Carley Razzi Steers Penns Woods Winery Into New Era

Carley Razzi is shaping the strategy and marketing for Penns Woods Winery into its next chapter.

As part of a new generation of regional winemaking leaders, Carley Razzi is guiding Penns Woods Winery in Chadds Ford into its next chapter with vision and stewardship, writes Jamie Kleman for Chadds Ford Live.

Razzi, the winery’s co-owner and president, is responsible for shaping strategy, directing marketing, and overseeing day-to-day operations.

From an early age, Razzi was surrounded by the wine business, often spending time at her father’s import company, WinesU. She later earned a business management and marketing degree from Colorado State University and joined Penns Woods Winery in 2009, advancing to a top leadership position, where she now guides long-term strategy and brand presence.

She also collaborates with the winery’s hospitality and tasting room teams to elevate visitor experience and works with vineyard partners to support production efforts.

Under Razzi’s leadership, the winery’s philosophy centers on vineyard management and regenerative farming.

“Making wine is a balance of science and love, and if you don’t have both, it’s not going to happen,” she said. “It starts in the vineyard. You can’t make wine any better than the grapes you grow, which is why we prioritize regenerative farming.”
