Napa Kitchen and Wine Opens at Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square

Napa Kitchen and Wine opened Feb. 11 in the Ellis Preserve.

A restaurant inspired by the Napa Valley is now open at Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

After two years of development, Napa Kitchen and Wine made its debut in the Equus Capital Partners’ mixed-use development on Feb. 11.

The restaurant is owned by franchisees David and Lisa Trout and their business partner Darryl Brophy.

Restaurateur Dennis Barbaro, CEO of DJB Hospitality, opened the flagship restaurant in 2022 in Richmond, Virginia.

Newtown Square is the second location and the first franchise for the Napa Kitchen and Wine restaurant.

The restaurant has steaks, seafood, hand-rolled sushi, and shareable plates, which pair with wines from around the world.

There is an on-site sommelier. The restaurant has an extensive wine program, with self-serve wine and bourbon stations, guided tastings, pairing dinners, and educational events.

The 7,500 square-foot-plus restaurant includes an 80-seat private dining room and a 100-seat patio.

“We’re very selective on where we want to put our restaurants,” Barbaro said in a March 27, 2024, article in the Philadelphia Business Journal.  “It just seemed like Ellis Preserve hit all the buttons.”
