Jason Kelce is starring in a local Garage Beer Super Bowl ad that will be broadcast Sunday for the Philadelphia market, writes Ariel Simpson for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The retired Eagles center and Haverford resident appears in the ad with former Eagles player Beau Allen and Doug the miniature horse.
Kelce and his brother, Travis, are co-owners of Garage Beer, based in Ohio.
The ad, titled “Brotherly Shovel,” was filmed on a farm near Conshohocken. It features the Budweiser Clydesdales pulling a beer wagon that reveals Doug and a large pile of manure.
“We make a promise to do things the right way,” the narrator says. “To respect the tradition. And to shovel what tradition leaves behind.”
Kelce and Allen have worked on other commercials for Garage Beer. They’ve also worked on longer projects like Brewmite and Thermal Buzz.
Garage Beer is based on a recipe from Cincinnati, though its headquarters is in Columbus, Ohio. Travis Kelce has known Garage Beer co-owner Andy Sauer for several years.
The beer is a light lager beer that comes in regular and lime flavors.
It is sold in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and other states, with ongoing plans to expand.
