See How the Kelce Brothers’ Garage Beer Did in a Taste Test

Jason Kelce, left, and brother Travis Kelce are now part-owners of Garage Beer.

Jason and Travis Kelce are all in on their light beer investment, Garage Beer, but in a blind taste test conducted by Philadelphia Inquirer staffers, it couldn’t beat local craft beer Pony Boi from Aston-based 2SP Brewing Co.

Garage Beer was tested against four other light beers, writes Gabriela Carroll and Henry Savage for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Pony Boi came out on top, scoring 18.25 out of 25. Tasters praised the “citrusty” flavor and crisp aftertaste.

Philadelphia’s Love City Lager came in second, scoring 17 out of 25. Tasters liked its bolder flavor, and its “craft-y beer” taste.

Bud Light was third, scoring 12.5 out of 25.  Its smooth, mild, inoffensive taste kept it out of the lower tier, but prevented it from being a favorite.

Kenwood Original from Serra Beer Company in Collingdale scored 10.25 out of 25. Panelists were split, with some saying it tasted bland and others calling it “fuller and hearty.”

Sadly, Garage Beer scored only 9 out of 25, with one taster marking it as their favorite, while the others placed it at or near the bottom.

“It’s almost like it’s been sitting in a garage, ironically, for a little longer than it should have,” one taster remarked.
