The Hangout Café, which started as a small snack bar two years ago in Morton, has come to the Springfield Mall at 1250 Baltimore Pike in Springfield.
It will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts.
The café was started by Latisha and Alonzo Gray as The Hangout Snack Bar at 29 S. Morton Ave.
The Hangout Café, located in the former Friendly’s Restaurant, will have full counter service.
Featured menu favorites include pancakes, chicken and waffles, fish and grits, burgers, sandwiches, funnel cakes, fried Oreos, and ice cream creations.
Guests can order at the counter and dine in, or take the food to go.
“We want The Hangout Café to be the place where families, friends, and neighbors come together to eat, laugh, and make memories,” Latisha explained. “It’s not just about good food, it’s about good vibes.”
The café will sport a pop art retro theme to encourage those good vibes.
It’s open Tuesday through Thursday, 10 AM to 8 PM; Friday and Saturday, 10 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday, 10 AM to 6 PM.
